Entries in Jack White (36)
I was at this one. Intense, wild, exhausting, sexy, dark, scary, exhillerating...His longest show on record I guess, two 2 hours and 45 minutes, of NON STOP RAGE. Even the soft moments were lousy with life.
Grabbed this from the Guitar 101 forums, that community rules.
Jack White, please continue what you're doing. Sign up for The Vault guys. Support Thirdman Records and everything that Jack White is doing. He is the resurgence of rock and roll.
Man if these guys didn't serve up some high voltage rock and roll in their day, hopefully we'll see it again. What we have here is a crisp soundboard copy of their 2008 Lollapalooza performance right here in Chicago.
Musically I'd love to know if these guys have anything planned. Their two LP's, Broken Boy Soldiers and Consolers of the Lonely, are both fantastic works in pop rock

Well folks, this is it, the epic conclusion to The Steam Engine's 5th anniversary part. We started the week off with some Spoon, then Kurt Vile, Portugal. The Man, Great Lake Swimmers, Reignwolf, Radiohead, The Decemberists, The Black Keys, and now, some Jack White.
It's been a swell 5 years guys, thanks for everything. Looking forward to the future.

I like to think of myself as a very passionate person. When something jibes with me and I "get it" I dive in head first. Music is probably the clearest example of this in my life. When I am lucky enough to stumble upon an act that changes the way I think about a whole myriad of things I obsess. Pink Floyd, Neil Young, The Who, Ryan Adams, My Morning Jacket...the list goes on. But one person, across multiple bands, has captivated my attention for longer than any other and that person is Jack White. For years now he has been a daily part of my life. And that is not an exaggeration, I listen to something from The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, The Dead Weather or solo Jack every single day. His raw intensity and sheer dedication to his craft is absolutely admirable and I find inspiration in his work ethic constantly.
Fans of my musical taste (aka - The Steam Engine) know of my love for Jack White and if you haven't truly given him a chance then I encourage you dive in. If it clicks for you it will be an infinite free fall of amazement and wonder, maybe you'll even draw some inspiration from it as well.

Wayyyyyyy early White Stripes sets for you here. This has to be one of their first shows ever. If you look at pictures from this event, you will see a very, well, lousy looking Jack White with the worst haircut I've ever seen. But, give the recording a listen and you'll hear signature Jack White, the guy is just unique.

The official video for the Jack White rendition of the Little Willie John classic "I'm Shakin'" has been released this morning and in typical Jack White fashion it's awesome. For the Blunderbuss track Jack faces off against his self, one blue, one black and, well, just check it out.
Yet another fantastic set from Mr. Jack White III. Not having gone to one of the shows on his first solo tour will probably go down as one of the great regrets of my life. I've actually NEVER seen Jack White perform with ANY band. The White Stripes didn't hit me until a couple of years ago, The Raconteurs just never worked out, I had tickets to a Dead Weather show but had to go out of town last minute - always something.
So, I get my live fix through these recordings - which is only sustainable for so long. Something is going to have to give soon.
BUT, enjoy this rock and roll set. I love how in "Top Yourself" he tosses the Howlin' Wolf lyrics "I asked for water, she gave me gasoline" into the song, pretty f*cking cool guys.

We've been Jack White heavy lately, but, that's the exact opposite of a bad thing. Here he is doing his thing at one of France's largest music festivals. After "Carolina Drama" and just before "Seven Nation Army" he gives a shout out to the Alabama Shakes - how f*cking cool must that feel? To have JACK WHITE praising you in front of tens of thousands of people?
As usual, support this man and all that he does. He's a true blue rock and roll star at the forefront of the analog revolution, we need guys like this. Enjoy this (and alllllll of these) free download but buy a concert ticket, tshirt or pick up some wax.
